Terry Terrorizes: 3-0 against the DeltaSigs in DU Intramural Broomball

Take hockey and remove the cheering crowd, the ice skates, and the division one athletes. Insert sneakers, sweatpants, and screaming college kids with very little coordination. Lose the puck and replace it with a small orange soccer ball. Instead of three, twenty-minute periods, there are two, eighteen-minute halves. Five people on the ice per team. One sixty second halftime and no timeouts.

This is broomball.

Obviously DU is known for the hockey program but it is super cool to hear about the ways students get involved otherwise. Broomball creates a wonderful opportunity for students to get out on the ice, run around, and have a good time. Knowing how seriously everyone takes it while having fun makes it that much more entertaining to watch. From what I know some people get into Broomball more than anything else on campus so this was a really interesting thing for you to cover. You did a great job adding visuals into the story to depict exactly what took place at the game, and I’m sure it was that and more!

Broomball sounds like a super fun activity on campus! I love the detail and action verbs you utilized in your writing here as well. Great story, keep it up!
